It is very important to know that, how to and what to do in your day to day life after getting healed from a heart attack. First of all we have to know what not to do.

First thing is avoiding from smoking. Smoking is very dangerous after heal from a heart attack. You have to avoid both of active and passive smoking. Active smoking is the smoking done by yourself. When you stay in a place where others are smoking, you will passively inhaled smoke. This is passive smoking. Therefore keep away from where others smoke.


Controlling the diabetes if you have it. You have to keep your blood sugar always in normal level. If you are less than 65 years, your sugar levels must be as follows. Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS) is 110mg/dl, 2 hour postprandial glucose must be 140mg/dl and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) level must be less than 6.5%.

It is same on the high blood pressure and cholesterol levels. You have to keep blood pressure lower than 140/90. You have to take medicine for cholesterol when if your cholesterol level in normal. Every heart patient who finished treatments after attack will be prescribed to get Atorvastatin. Doctors prescribe to get this medicine for the rest of the life. This medicine is doing the clearing and regulating blood vessels. Keep in mind to take the diet which is good for your heart.

Characteristics of a meal for heart patients
Saturated Lipids must be in very low. Reduce the consumption of beef, pork and coconut oil to reduce saturated lipids. You must have to eat atleast 4.5 cups of vegetable and fruits. It is important to eat atleast 200g of fish per week. Take atleast 3 cups of foods prepared by Whole Grain Wheat Flour. Reduce using salt.

Keep a more active life style. Most of the people after heal heart attack, are afraid of doing exercises. But exercises are helpful to keep your heart, circulatory system well and increase the health of both physical and mental. Get an advise from your doctor when to start exercises and what kind of exercises you may do. Doing activity such as walking, swimming or cycling atleast 30 minutes per day. Continue this atleast 5 days a week. This will help to avoid further heart attacks.

Attend to work again
The time you have to start work after getting healed from a heart attack is depend on your physical health and style of work. If it is a light job such as office work, you can continue to ordinary work status within two weeks.

Sexual Intercourse
If you are feeling well after about 4-6 weeks, you can do sexual activities as previously done. After healing heart attack 3% of men may appear temporary sexual impotence. It is due to mental situation or effects from medicines taken. If you having such a problem, you must discuss it with your physician.

Driving
Do not drive atleast 4 weeks pass after healing. If you are a heavy vehicle driver you must talk to your physician before start driving.
