Select Areas Using Brush Tool in Photoshop

You can use Photoshop brush tool to select areas in a layer. This is an easy tool to make selections. I mostly use this method to change colors of specified positions in a layer.

Step 1
Make new layer over the layer to make selection on. Then press B to take brush tool in action. Then brush over the area to fill in the new layer.

Step 2
Ctrl+Click on the brushed new layer in the Layer palette to make a selection.

Step 3
Then click on the below layer which you want to apply changes via the selection and do your changes.
