Scientifically named as Pentas carnea is famous among English as "Egyptian Star Cluster". Written witnesses say that this plant is found by Egyptians. This perennial plant is not grow much high. Plant contains opposite leaves around the stem. Leaves are little bit of fibrous. Flowers are blooming every time of the year. Flowers can be seen every tip of the branch. There are several varieties due to the color of the flower. Colors are vary such as red, pink, white, light pink, etc.

Pentas grows as a garden plantation or in a single pot. A good plantation needs good sunlight. You can make a good Pentas bush with pruning. Removing parts when pruning can be used to plant new ones. Tips of branches can use to propagate. Remove old faded flowers before plant. Plant media can be prepared mixing 01 portion of decayed plant material and 01 portion of sand together. Fill polythene bags with this media and plant new cuts. Then keep those in a shade or a propagator. You can use a rooting hormone to quick rooting. Root system forms within 2-3 weeks. After that remove carefully and re-plant in a proper place. Use 04 portions of top soil, 02 portions of decayed plant material and 01 portion of sand mixture to the re-plantation.

There are not much diseases come to the Pentas plant but mealy bug and leaves eating caterpillars may damage the plants easily. Use a systematic insecticide to control caterpillars.
